DESCRIPTION:Volunteers needed to plant!\nWhat: These events are part of “Project Ponderosa”\, a 9 year effort promoting student environmental awareness and ponderosa pine restoration in Sunriver and the Upper-Deschutes ecosystem. \nOur Goal: To plant 2\,000 bare-root Ponderosa Pine seedlings. \nThanks to: Sunriver Water & Environmental and the Oregon Community Tree Foundation for their sponsorship and generous support. \nThursday\, April 23\, 8:30am-11:30am @ Three Rivers School (Sunriver Business Park – North Side) \nFriday\, April 24\, 9:00am-11:30am @ Penhollow Compost Site & Nursery (Cottonwood Rd.) \nRSVP to: Lee Stevenson at lstevenson60@gmail.com \nPark in the ‘Faculty Lot’ – first or second left turn- at the school. Then walk around the left (west) side of the building.  The potting event will be behind the Gymnasium.

SUMMARY:Galveston Corridor Public Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Bend Park and Recreation District Office – 799 SW Columbia Street\, Bend\nPresentation at 6 p.m. \nThe City of Bend is asking for public input to select a preferred Galveston Avenue design concept to present to the Bend City Council for final approval. \nThe concepts represent this project vision from the Galveston Task Force and City of Bend: Northwest Galveston will reflect the small-town character of Bend while providing a model for how mixed-use and multi-modal transportation corridors can provide the foundation for a richer quality of life for corridor users and adjacent neighborhoods. Galveston will be an attractive place to live and travel\, will be environmentally-sensitive and will be a prosperous setting for business. \nIncluded with the concepts are options to improve safety and reduce congestion at the intersection of Galveston and Harmon Boulevard and to provide a location for additional on-street parking to alleviate parking in front of residences. \nUpdated documents that will be presented and reviewed at the public meeting will be available on Monday\, April 20\, at: www.bendoregon.gov/galveston \nFor more information or questions contact Nick Arnis at narnis@bendoregon.gov or 541-388-5542.
