SUMMARY:SolWest Fair with Renewable Northwest
DESCRIPTION:SolWest Fair will highlight the “energy for sustainable communities” with three days of workshops\, demonstrations\, and vendors that focus on renewable energy and sustainability. We plan to offer classes for continuing education credits for contractors\, an electric vehicle show\, and farm tours. Networking and community will be important whether you’re camping or sharing locally grown food. We plan to create a guide to sustainability so that participants will walk away with a seven-year plan shaped by vendors and presenters. SUMMARY:Field Sketching workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join the Deschutes Land Trust and artist Rebecca Brown-Thompson for a workshop on field sketching. On the first day we’ll be in the studio focusing on honing basic techniques valuable for all forms of sketching. Learn how to train your eye to see negative spaces\, shapes\, proportion\, perspective\, and tones. Then\, the second day\, you’ll move on to flora and fauna drawing tips and how to draw what you see\, not what you think you see. This workshop is day one of a two-day workshop and is open to adults of all skill levels.
