Reuse at Home

Let's face it, reusing is mainstream and money saving. From handing down clothes to siblings to turning in aluminum cans for a nickel per can, reusing things has been an important part of American culture for many years.

From building materials, to furniture, to jewelry, reusing stuff is the way to go. Reusing has the potential to keep lots of things, big and small, out of our landfill.

We also have a big opportunity to move from single use disposable items, to durable, reusable things. Things like reusable water bottles, coffee mugs, shopping bags, and yes, even diapers, can have a positive impact on our environment. Reusing clothing, furniture, even some electronics, can really put the lid on the trash can.

• Check out The Green Spot for many businesses that focus on reuse for their products or services.
• Utilize technology and websites such as Craigslist, ebay, freecycle, and other sites that allow people to sell or buy all kinds of good stuff.
• When cleaning out or remodeling, donate your goods to one of our great resale stores and take a tax deduction!
