Salmon Watch trainings are for new and returning Salmon Watch teachers and volunteers. The Freshwater Trust is launching a revised edition of Salmon Watch for the fall 2010 field season, so even if you are a veteran we encourage you to attend a training to learn about new additions and enhancements to the program.
This training is a free, half-day session that will teach you about water quality, aquatic insects, riparian zones and working with middle and high school students in the field. This workshop is intended to prepare you with the knowledge and skills you will need to either bring your students on a Salmon Watch field trip or volunteer to serve as a field instructor for the program. You will be given the opportunity to explore the field stations that most interest you, facilitated by The Freshwater Trust staff and seasoned Salmon Watch teachers and volunteers.
If participating as a volunteer, we respectfully request that you sign up to teach on at least one Salmon Watch field trip during the 2010 season.
