Beatlemania! KPOV presents its second Beatles Singalong June 25 at the Century Center

Back by popular demand, the Beatles Singalong will celebrate the pop ballads and psychedelic rock of one of the world’s most beloved bands Saturday, June 25, at the Century Center in Bend.

An embodiment of the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s, the Beatles — who in the one decade they were together smashed UK charts and sold more albums in the U.S. than any other artist — are still popular 40 years later.

Some of Central Oregon’s top local music acts will bring Beatlemania to Bend and with them the stage presence of Liverpool legends John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

Local acts will include 5 Pint Mary, Kousefly, the Gospel Choir of the Cascades, All Together Now, Clay Smith & Bill Hayes, Lauren Kershner, and The Prairie Rockets.

“The Beatles are deeply woven into the fabric of pop culture,” said KPOV Board President Rick Miller. “People of all ages can hum or sing their music. Now everyone can rock out together at a family-friendly event and support community radio and local musicians.”

Advance tickets to the Beatles Singalong, an all-ages fundraiser for 106.7 KPOV High Desert Community Radio, are on sale at www.kpov.org and at the KPOV studio at 501 NW Bond St. General admission tickets are $10 - $12 in advance; at the door, adults are $15 and those under 18 are $5. Family packs (for five people or more) are also available for $40.

Doors open at the Century Center at 6 p.m.; the show is 7 – 10 p.m.

Be sure to dress up like your favorite Beatle or other 60s icon.

Beer and food will be available, along with a birthday cake celebrating KPOV 106.7 High Desert Community Radio’s sixth anniversary.
