On Location Cape Alitak Alaska volcanoes, archaeology and changes in the permafrost from climate change are featured in our first fall program.
Frontier Scientists project director Liz O’Connell, who has been pioneering new ways for Arctic scientists to engage the public in their discoveries, will share video and stories about volcanologists, archaeologists and climate scientists doing field work in some of the remotest corners of Alaska. She returned from her latest expedition in late August.
Frontier Scientists is a website and online community funded by the National Science Foundation which aims to share the latest Arctic scientific discoveries with travelers, students, teachers, aspiring scientists and anyone curious about Alaska.
