Central Oregon volunteers and members of Slow Food High Desert are coming together to Dig In! Join thousands of people around the country who are participating in Slow Food USA’s first-ever national day of action which is titled Dig In! and is aimed at creating a world where food is good for you, good for the grower and good for the planet.
The Slow Food High Desert chapter is organizing a "Crop Mob", where volunteers swarm a farm to help out the farmers. We’ll be making butter and cheese, cultivating vegetable beds, planting garlic, as well as tending poultry. At the end of the day, the farmers will throw a big thank-you dinner for the volunteers.
Meet: 7:00 am in front of the Bend Library, 601 NW Wall Street. We’ll carpool from there.
Cost: FREE
RSVP: Register with Jaymie at j.lujan.exley@gmail.com. Please put “Crop Mob” in the subject.
