Central Oregon local-food lovers and sustainable agriculture advocates have the unique opportunity to sit together and celebrate the harvest season at Slow Food High Desert’s second annual August Bounty dinner.
This year’s event includes individual courses prepared by six noted area chefs, using ingredients sourced locally from a host of farmers, ranchers, and producers.
Proceeds from the event will assist with travel costs for three Central Oregon delegates to attend the 2010 Terre Madre sustainable agriculture conference in Italy. The three delegates will be joining the table and sharing the meal on August 15th to chat with attendees and describe their participation goals for the global conference.
Location: Terrebonne’s Faith, Hope, and Charity Vineyard and Event Center
A limited number of guests may also participate in a tour of Central Oregon farms and wineries guided by The Well Traveled Fork. Seats for both events can be reserved now by emailing Slow Food High Desert or stopping into Ginger’s Kitchenware in Bend.
Cost: Slow Food High Desert is taking reservations for the second annual August’s Bounty dinner. Tickets are on sale now at $50 per person for dinner only or combined dinner & tour at $100 per person.
Supporters who are unable to attend August’s Bounty are encouraged to donate cash or frequent-flyer award miles. Contact Slow Food High Desert to make your donations.
