Now in its 11th year, the Central Oregon Green and Solar Home Tour will showcase many of Central Oregon’s greenest and most sustainable homes. The tour is hosted by the High Desert Branch of the Cascadia Green Building Council with the help of our generous sponsors: The Bulletin, Sunlight Solar Energy, Energy Trust of Oregon, Earth Advantage Institute, Central Oregon Community College, Northwest Crossing and The Garner Group.
The seven homes on tour this year feature many outstanding green and solar features. You will have the opportunity to see two Net Zero homes, an incredible 647 square foot home and an affordably green Habitat for Humanity LEED platinum home. You will also preview a rain water collection and reuse system, a uniquely insulated exterior thermal mass wall, and an energy conscious home facing a city view on the south. To learn more about the homes and take a sneak preview at photos and diagrams of the homes visit our website greenandsolarhometour.com.
With energy costs continuing to rise, and resources continuing to dwindle, there has never been a better time to “go green” – and the Green and Solar Homes Tour will give you the tools you need. The tour is a chance for the community to explore green homes first hand and talk directly to the builders and homeowners. Attendees will learn how the latest green building technologies are installed and function from both the experts and the users.
This FREE Tour will kick-off at the Central Oregon Community College Campus Center at 2600 NW College Way, Bend. Come hear presentations about some of the homes on tour and the various technologies you will see staring at 9:00AM, doors open at 8:30AM. The homes on the tour will be open for viewing from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM. There are also two continuing education credits available for architecture professionals through AIA.
Doors open at 8:30 am and presentations will begin at 9:00am. Homes will be open for viewing from 10:30am-5:00pm.
