OUR MISSION:
to embed sustainability into daily life in Central Oregon.
For us, sustainability is about people, the planet and prosperity.
Sustainability means meeting today’s needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It means meeting human needs equitably, living within our planet’s ecological limits, and building a prosperous economy for all.
We believe that ensuring a sustainable future for people and the planet means we must change how we live our daily lives, individually and collectively. Because a healthy planet hinges on how much we drive or ride our bike. It hinges on how much stuff we consume and what we do with it when we’re done. It hinges on how much energy we use and how that energy is created, from coal or from the sun. It hinges on how we educate our kids and what we educate them about. And a healthy future hinges on how we solve collective challenges, like land use planning, transit, homelessness and carbon pricing.
